About NEW LIFE MINISTRIES - D.C.

NEW LIFE MINISTRIES – D.C. was established by a small group of compassionate Christians with a burning desire to make a real and noticeable difference, both within and beyond the church walls. We envision New Life as a courageous, forward-thinking mission center, empowered by the Holy Spirit to transform lives and communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to know God and make Him known to others.

As a church without walls, NEW LIFE MINISTRIES – D.C. reaches beyond religious traditions and physical barriers to make Jesus accessible to the community and the world. Our ministries extend to homeless shelters, local schools, community parks, homes of low-income families, social media, and more.

About Our Faith

We believe in the one true, holy, and living God, the Eternal Spirit, who is the Creator, Sovereign, and Preserver of all things visible and invisible. He is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness, and love, and He rules with gracious regard for the well-being and salvation of humans, to the glory of His name. We believe this one God reveals Himself as the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinct but inseparable, eternally one in essence and power.

We believe in Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, in whom the divine and human natures are perfectly and inseparably united. He is the eternal Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. As our ministering Servant, He lived, suffered, and died on the cross. He was buried, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven to be with the Father, from where He shall return. He is our eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us, and by Him, all shall be judged.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from and is one in being with the Father and the Son. He convinces the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He leads us through our faithful response to the gospel into the fellowship of the Church, comforts, sustains, and empowers the faithful, and guides us into all truth.

We believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, reveals the Word of God as necessary for our salvation. It is received through the Holy Spirit as the true rule and guide for faith and practice. Anything not revealed or established by the Holy Scriptures should not be considered a fundamental part of faith or taught as essential to salvation.

We believe the Christian Church is the community of all true believers under the Lordship of Christ. We see it as one, holy, apostolic, and catholic. It is a redemptive fellowship where the Word of God is preached by divinely called individuals, and sacraments are administered according to Christ’s teachings. Under the discipline of the Holy Spirit, the Church exists to maintain worship, edify believers, and redeem the world.

We believe the Sacraments, ordained by Christ, are symbols and pledges of our Christian faith and God’s love. They are means by which God works invisibly in us, strengthening and confirming our faith. Christ ordained two Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe Baptism signifies entrance into the household of faith. It symbolizes repentance, cleansing from sin, a new birth in Christ, and marks Christian discipleship.

We believe children are under the atonement of Christ and, as heirs of the Kingdom of God, are acceptable subjects for Christian Baptism. Children of believing parents through Baptism become the special responsibility of the Church. They should be nurtured and led to personal acceptance of Christ, and by profession of faith, confirm their Baptism.

We believe the Lord’s Supper is a representation of our redemption, a memorial of the sufferings and death of Christ, and a token of love and union which Christians have with Christ and with one another. Those who rightly, worthily, and in faith eat the broken bread and drink the blessed cup partake of the body and blood of Christ in a spiritual manner until he comes.

We believe humanity has fallen from righteousness and, without the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, remains destitute of holiness and inclined toward evil. Without being born again, one cannot see the Kingdom of God. Through his own strength, without divine grace, man cannot perform good works that are pleasing and acceptable to God. However, when influenced and empowered by the Holy Spirit, man can freely exercise his will to choose good.

We believe that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was perfect and sufficient for the sins of the entire world, redeeming humanity without the need for any other sacrifice.

We believe we are never made righteous before God through our works or merit. Instead, penitent sinners are justified and considered righteous before God solely through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe regeneration is the renewal of humanity in righteousness through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, whereby we are made partakers of the divine nature and experience newness of life. By this new birth, the believer becomes reconciled to God and is enabled to serve Him with will and affection.

We believe that although we have experienced regeneration, it is possible to depart from grace and fall into sin, and we may even then, by the grace of God, be renewed in righteousness.

We believe good works are the essential fruits of faith and follow regeneration. However, they do not have the power to remove our sins or prevent divine judgment. Good works, pleasing and acceptable to God in Christ, arise from a true and living faith, making that faith evident.

We believe sanctification is the work of God’s grace through His Word and Spirit. Through this, those who have been born again are cleansed from sin in thought, word, and deed, enabling them to live according to God’s will and strive for holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

Entire sanctification represents a state of perfect love, righteousness, and true holiness that every regenerate believer may achieve. This is accomplished by being delivered from the power of sin, loving God with all one’s heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loving one’s neighbor as oneself. Through faith in Jesus Christ, this gracious gift may be received both gradually and instantaneously in this life and should be earnestly sought by every child of God.

We believe this experience does not free us from the infirmities, ignorance, and mistakes common to humanity, nor from the possibilities of further sin. Christians must remain vigilant against spiritual pride and strive to overcome every temptation. By fully responding to the will of God, sin will lose its power; the world, the flesh, and the devil are overcome. Through the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we maintain watchfulness over these challenges.

We believe all people stand under the righteous judgment of Jesus Christ, both now and on the last day. We affirm the resurrection of the dead: the righteous to eternal life and the wicked to endless condemnation.

We believe divine worship is both a duty and a privilege, where we bow before God in adoration, humility, and dedication. Worship is essential to the life of the Church and crucial for Christian fellowship and spiritual growth.

The order of public worship may vary based on circumstances and needs. It should be in a language and form understood by the people, consistent with the Holy Scriptures, and aligned with the Church’s discipline for the edification of all.

We believe the Lord’s Day is divinely ordained for private and public worship, for rest from unnecessary work, and should be devoted to spiritual growth, Christian fellowship, and service. It commemorates our Lord’s resurrection and symbolizes our eternal rest. It is vital for the growth and stability of the Christian Church and plays an important role in the welfare of the civil community.

We believe God is the owner of all things and that holding property is a lawful and sacred trust under God. Private property should be used to demonstrate Christian love and generosity and support the Church’s mission worldwide. All forms of property, whether private, corporate, or public, must be held with solemn responsibility for human good under God’s sovereignty.

We believe civil government derives its just powers from the sovereign God. As Christians, we recognize the governments under whose protection we reside and believe such governments should uphold and be accountable for recognizing human rights under God. We believe war and bloodshed oppose the gospel and spirit of Christ. It is the duty of Christian citizens to provide moral strength and purpose to their governments through sober, righteous, and godly living.
