Ministries in Action at New Life Ministries DC

Our congregation is guided by the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20), which outline the five-fold purposes of the church.

Jesus replied: " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. (Matthew 22:37-38.

Evangelism

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, (Matthew 28:18-19a.)

We are ambassadors for Christ, and our duty is to share the good news that Jesus saves us from the power and control of sin.

Fellowship

“Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19b)"

As Christians, we are called to believe and to belong. The purpose of the church is to welcome and incorporate all believers into the fellowship of the family of God.

Outreach/Mega Hearts

adopt a family ministry

Adopt A Family Ministry

The Adopt a Family Ministry at NEW LIFE MINISTRIES – D.C. is a collaborative effort between the church and a chosen family. Young members of the adopted family actively participate in the Faith and Fun Youth Ministry while the church supports them by fulfilling their spiritual, social, educational, and economic needs.

In 2023, our children and youth participated in Sunday morning worship services, Bible study classes, fellowship meals, community engagement, and outreach initiatives. They enjoyed activities like visits to water parks, bowling alleys, roller skating rinks, ice skating rinks, and Go Kart Parks.

For 2024, we plan to introduce a music ministry for the youth, including piano, guitar, and drum lessons, along with a liturgical dance group. Parents must agree to support their children in their faith and fun journey. Donate today!

Adopt a School Ministry

At NEW LIFE MINISTRIES – D.C., our partnership with John Hayden Johnson Middle School (JMS) is all about nurturing future leaders and building lasting relationships.

JMS stands as a beacon of safety and excellence, cultivating a foundation for academic success and strong moral character. By integrating technology with their Blended Learning model, they prepare students for both higher education and future careers.

Our activities and services at JMS include sponsoring educational field trips, teacher and staff appreciation days, and community festivals like our annual Fall Festival. We also donate supplies, equipment, and Thanksgiving baskets. Our volunteer services include participation in career fairs, athletic programs, and school committees. Pastoral care is provided upon request. Donate today.

Evangelism

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, Matthew 28:18-19a.

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:7-8

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day, they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. ACTS 2:45-47

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

  1. The purpose of this initiative, also called street evangelism, is to reach as many households as possible and introduce them to Christ and New Life Ministries DC. It resulted in a significant boost in our website traffic, increased awareness of our presence in the community, helped to build healthy, productive relationships with residents and businesses, and increased our Sunday morning worship attendance.

FAITH & FUN YOUTH MINISTRY

The NLMDC Faith and Fun Youth Ministry began on Sunday, September 26, 2021, during our church’s 4th anniversary. The celebration included a worship service, cookout, and many games and activities for our youth. Since its start, our young people have been involved in the five-fold ministries of worship, outreach, evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship.

We provide a variety of gifts and support services for the most active youth in this ministry, including snack packs, book bags, school supplies, winter coats, hats, gloves, Thanksgiving gift cards, grooming services, and more.

To join this exciting youth ministry, parents must complete an enrollment form, and students must agree to the Ministry’s Code of Conduct.
